What to do when Honda sensing doesn’t work in winter? why is Honda sensing not working under cold weather? “Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem. See your Dealer”; Or “Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate; Radar Obstructed” showing on your dashboard, what to do?
There are two main reasons why is Honda Sensing not working:
Firstly, you want to make sure that the Honda sensing features are on, which is Road Departure Mitigation (RDM); Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
And also make sure all the safety features are under certain active speed:
Road Departure Mitigation: 72KMH-145 KMH
Lane Keeping Assist System: 72 KMH -145 KMH
Lane Departure Warning: 65 KMH -145 KMH
Adaptive Cruise Control: Start from 40KMH
Forward Collision Warning: Start from 5 KMH
Secondly, you need to check if your Honda sensor and camera are blocked by snow, ice or mud. If so, some of your Honda Sensing functions will be temporarily shut off. What you want to do to get back your lovely Honda sensing features is that use a soft cloth to wipe off your camera and the radar.
